Downtown Parking Space Blues

I been ridin' 'round the block ya'll, just tryin' to park this car
Said I been ridin' 'round the block people, just tryin' to park this old car
You see, I don't wanna pay no money, and I don't wanna walk too far

See, I'm tryin' to pick up my baby, she works here in the department  store
I said I'm tryin' to pick up my sweet baby, she works down here in the department store
She says she's tired of waitin' for the bus, 'cause it's cold and her feets is sore

Well now, I thought I'd double-park awhile, and wait for my baby that way
You know, I thought I'd double-park awhile, and wait for my baby that way
But then along come this old police man, come tellin' me that I can't stay

Well I'm tired of ridin' 'round here ya'll, think I'll pull into the underground lot
I'm so tired of ridin' 'round here people, think I'll pull into the underground lot
But Lawd, these people underground, they wants more money than I got

I'm gonna tell ya'll somethin' people, 'bout these crazy crowded downtown streets
Said I'm gonna tell ya'll somethin' people, 'bout these crazy crowded downtown streets
Pretty soon they gonna start chargin' folks, just to park they feets

Well now, I hopes my baby come out soon, 'cause I'm 'bout to run out of gas
Said I just hopes my baby come out here soon ya'll, 'cause I'm just about to run out of gas
See, if my baby don't come out here real soon ya'll, I think I'm gonna have to leave her ass
